What experience do I need to become a Sushi Obsession franchise owner?
Although not a requirement, former restaurant franchise experience, or at the very least experience in the food industry, is favorable. Sales, management and guest service skills are also important. Anyone, however, who is enthusiastic and dedicated to learning the business is welcome. In exchange for your commitment to the Sushi Obsession brand, we’ll provide the training and tools you need operate your sushi restaurant franchise with confidence.
What is provided as part of the Sushi Obsession franchise program?
Training to become a Sushi Obsession franchise owner is extensive – but fun! Before you open your restaurant, you will review the Sushi Obsession confidential operations manual, and complete online software training and become SafeServ certified, which takes approximately 40 hours. Next, franchise owners and managers will attend training at the Sushi Obsession support center for up to 10 days, and lead cooks up to 15 days. Lastly, a member of the Sushi Obsession team will join new owners at their new restaurants for up to five days, beginning approximately two days before their soft opening. Our new restaurant owners and their teams will feel confident and enthusiastic as they begin their new Sushi Obsession journey.
How much will the Sushi Obsession franchise program cost me?
The projected initial investment range is $297,762 to $462,339, which includes an initial franchise fee of $37,000. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.
Is financing available?
We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners, but we may refer to financing sources on a case by case basis.
Are there ongoing fees to pay?
We charge a royalty fee equal to 6% of net sales, as well as a monthly technology fee of $150 per month, with an option to raise it up to $350 per month. Fees such as these allow us to fund our ongoing support services and the continued development of services, marketing tools, training programs, and systems upgrades. Are there any advertising fees?
Sushi Obsession franchise owners will be required to spend a minimum of $10,000 on grand opening promotions and marketing; they will then contribute 2% of monthly net sales or a minimum of $1,000 (whichever is greater) to ongoing local marketing efforts, with the bulk of that spend dedicated to digital marketing. Franchisees will also contribute up to 2% (currently 1.5%) of net sales into the brand development fund. Collected funds will be used to develop network-wide marketing strategies and materials used to promote the Sushi Obsession brand.
What is the term of the agreement?
The initial term of your agreement is five years, with three subsequent successor agreement option of five years.
